Pub hosts clash of eco-views
7:00am Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
TWO opposing Bicester groups could end up with a clash of eco-views tonight after booking the same venue.
Campaign group BaEACON, opposed to the eco-town plans, has called a meeting at the Bure Farm pub at 7pm to discuss its response to Cherwell District Council’s local plan.
But at the same time, A2 Dominion, the developer behind the first stage of the 5,000 eco settlement, has staged a ‘meet the team’ and information event at the pub in Barberry Place.
The move comes as A2 Dominion confirms it will start work on the first phase of 393 eco homes, at farmland off Banbury Road, next month.
Tony Walton, chairman of anti-eco group Bicester Against Eco Con (BaECON), said: “We are looking at the whole issue of Cherwell local plan, not just the ‘eco con’. BaECON intend to register their comments after this meeting.”

And Bicester Advertiser, please note, BaECON are not anti-eco; they're against the massive con that is being allowed in this town.

That looks a bit unfair. It suggests that they are against ecological issues, maybe they are but as far as I can see their purpose is to be against this particular housing development and the name "Bicester Against Eco Con" suggests that they think it's a con not that they are against ecology.
Please could the Oxford Mail stop misreporting things?
