MUSICIANS from Bicester played a fitting tribute to mark the end of the Paralympic Games.

The bandstand in Garth Park was one of 217 in towns and cities across the country chosen to take part in Bandstand Marathon, part of the London 2012 Festival.

Local musicians were invited to take part in hundreds of outdoor concerts across the UK to mark the end of the London Olympic Games.

About 300 people turned out in Garth Park to support local groups including Secklow Brass, The Method, The Ramps, Jamie Felton and Bicester Brass & Wind.

One of Sunday’s highlights saw musicians around the country simultaneously perform Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.

In Bicester, 15-year-old singer Jamie Felton, pictured, performed the tune along with 20 other songs.

His dad Mark Felton said: “He got a really good response.

Bicester mayor Dan Sames said: “It was great to see local musicians showcased on our wonderful bandstand”
