HERE is one group of girls with a strut in their step.

They have just won a whole heap of trophies at the Freestyle Dance Competitions in Blackpool. Grace McDonagh and Chanel Mullen won bronze in the adult age group while Maddy McDonagh, seven, and Tia Afilaka won gold in the under eight group. Maddy said: “I am really pleased about winning. I put a lot of hard work into it. “I wasn’t that scared when I had to do my dance. When I grow up I want to become a dance teacher.”

They competed against around 500 dancers from all over the UK and from Norway.
