REVELLERS were last night fuelling up for Truck as thousands arrived for Oxfordshire’s best-loved festival.
Campers yesterday started pitching up at Hill Farm in Steventon for the weekend’s festivities.
Truckfest got off to a cloudy but dry start, and the weather is predicted to brighten up today with sunny intervals and highs of 19C.
Will Madgwick, 21, from Wantage, said: “It’s a great family atmosphere, a lot of fun, and hopefully the weather will hold out for us.”
The main stage yesterday was headlined by Mystery Jets, with support from Aussie comedy song writer Tim Minchin and Oxford band Fixers.
Other local acts included Old Grinding Young, formerly of UTE, Spring Offensive, and Dead Jerichos who recently announced Truck would be their last show.
Katie Herring, 24, pictured, from Oxford, who is playing the Jamalot stage today with her band Duchess, said: “It’s a great opportunity to play to a local audience and some friends.”
Last August Truck founders Robin and Joe Bennett were forced to call time on the event because of costs. But the festival was taken over by Y Not festival.
