Free school at former US air base gets go-ahead

A FREE school at a former Oxfordshire Cold War air base has been approved by the Government.
Heyford Park Free School, at the former US Air Force base at Upper Heyford, near Bicester, is one of 10 all-through schools in the country that has been given approval.
It will take a total of 840 pupils from age four to 19 by 2019, and will open its doors for the first intake of pupils September 2013.
