Clinton Cards staff wait for fate

WORKERS at cash-strapped Clinton Cards were last night still waiting to hear whether their jobs would be axed.

Administrators Zolfo Cooper have not made any expected decision about which county stores would shut after announcing they would close 350 UK stores with the loss of 2,800 jobs.

The firm has six county stores in: Westgate Centre, Oxford; Woolgate Centre, Witney; Sheep Street, Bicester; Buttermarket, Thame; Castle Quay, Banbury and Bell Street, Henley, with about 60 staff.

All of the firm’s Birthdays branded stores will close including a Banbury outlet.

Not to be harsh, but after payin £17 for a card, paper giftbag and a keyring in there the other day, its easy to see why they're in trouble!
