Three rivers remain on flood alerts
9:20am Tuesday 8th May 2012 in News
THREE flood alerts remained on rivers in Oxfordshire last night.
The alerts were on the River Cherwell and its tributaries from Lower Heyford down to Oxford, the River Thame from Marsworth to Dorchester, and the River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to Islip.
A flood alert indicates that flooding is possible and people should be prepared.
The Environment Agency said property flooding was unlikely, despite heavy showers expected overnight and this morning.
The Met Office said today is expected to be cloudy with a chance of showers and heavy rain is forecast for Wednesday. It is expected to be drier by the weekend.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Saturday and Sunday should be mostly dry and bright.”
