£30 fly-tipper faces £5k bill

A BICESTER fly-tipper has been ordered to pay almost £5,000 after dumping rubbish he was paid £30 to dispose of.

Mike Newman, 43, of Bartsia Road, Bicester, admitted the illegal disposal of waste after he was caught dumping household rubbish in a layby in Lower Heyford Road.

Newman appeared before Banbury Magistrates’ Court on March 29, and was fined £500.

He was also ordered to pay £824.73 clean-up costs, £3,640 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge – a total of £4,979.73.

The court was told Newman had picked up a load including furniture, toys and black sacks of household refuse containing dirty nappies from a home in Lambourne Crescent, Bicester.

It is believed he tried to drop the items at Oxfordshire County Council’s waste and recycling facility in Ardley but was turned away as he did not have the required permit.

Cherwell District Council investigators were able to trace the dumped rubbish back to Newman.

Mr Newman got exactly what he deserved and let's hope this sends a very clear message out to all the other potential fly tipping toe rags.

And meanwhile some drunken scroat kicks the sh!t out of some innocent bloke on a friday night and get fined £50. What do you think is more serious Boggy, and more to the point, would you prefer to have a load of rubbish dumped outside your house, or be beaten to a pulp at your garden gate?

Hmmmm! strange that my comments about Travellers and how when they leave rubbish behind at an illegal site they do not get prosecuted has not been included in this thread. I tried to obtain the amount it costs Oxfordshire tax payers to clean up the sites when they are moved on, as well as the total cost of traveller provision for the county. I used the freedom of information act and still I got passed from pillar to post and did not get an answer. Why would talking about travellers be deemed an unsuitable topic ?

Because Jaguar it makes you a "RACIALIST", by the way I think it was half a million just to clear the rubbish from Redbridge, and also your point covers driving untaxed and uninsured transit vans as well. A law to oneselves methinks.
