FIRE crews tackled a car which burst into flames close to a crop field.
Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze, in Stratton Audley, near Bicester, which threatened to engulf the car and spread to the parched field.
The car had come to a stop on a country road on Monday. Its fuel tank was ‘severely affected’ as the fire took hold.
Firefighters said it was lucky the fire was contained, averting a more serious incident.
