A BLOOMING display of support has gone out in Bicester to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

A number of floral displays will pop up across the town as part of the annual Bicester in Bloom event.

This year's event is themed on the colours red, white and blue to commemorate the historic occasion.

Sheep Street is currently leading the way having been refurbished and given a spruce up by ground maintenance contractors Continental Landscapes.

Planters now feature four 'silent soldier' silhouettes as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during conflict.

The company mulched, planted and perfect the landscape along Sheep Street for free in partnership with Cherwell District Council's aims to make urban areas brighter across the district.

It is hoped it will welcome more residents into the town centre.
