A BARBER shop in Bicester is in contention for three prizes at The Modern Barber Awards 2018.

Andy’s Barber Shop in Bicester is once again in competition with other shops across the country to take home the title of best barber.

This year the shop, in Pioneer Square, is up for an award in three different categories; Best Customer Experience, Best Training and Best Business Leader.

Barber shop owner Andy Willis said: “We have a such a fantastic team here at Andy’s Barber Shop, Bicester, and so I am delighted that all their talent and hard work has been recognised by becoming finalists in these national awards.

“It is an absolute honour to be a finalist and to be attending the awards in May.

"Winning an award would be a bonus, but either way this is a huge achievement for Andy’s Barber Shop.”

The shop has been in Bicester for 10 years and recently moved from its former base in Sheep Street, just up the road to Pioneer Square.

Mr Willis has now opened the Gent’s Groom Room in the business’s former barber space.

He added: “Becoming a finalist in the Modern Barber Shop Awards is something barbers shops up and down the country would love to achieve.

“We are finalists alongside some outstanding competition, including barber shops from London, so yet again it’s great to be representing Bicester and indeed Oxfordshire.

“The team are winners in my eyes, regardless of the outcome, and we all can’t wait until the winners are announced in May.”

The Modern Barber Awards will be presented at a ceremony which will be held on Sunday, May 13, in London.
