More snow is officially set to hit Oxfordshire later this week as the Met Office issues a warning over transport and power cuts.

Light snow was expected to fall in the county but now a yellow warning for the white stuff has been put in place.

The chief forecaster predicted 2-5cm of snow in places and blamed high pressure over Scandinavia causing a cold easterly airstream to cross the North Sea.

Bicester Advertiser:

The warning has been issued for the whole of Sunday but temperatures could drop to -2C on Saturday as well.

The Met Office said there was a chance of travel delays on the roads and railways and warned mobile phones could be affected.
