MORE than 300 people came to Abingdon police station on Saturday and Sunday to be reunited with their stolen power tools.
The event was held following a policing operation in December which resulted in officers recovering a large quantity of tools worth approximately £20,000.
Police put out an appeal last week in a bid to return the items, which included chainsaws, drills and circular saws, to their rightful owners.
As part of the event attendees were also issued with crime prevention packs including UV markers and were able to speak to a member of the police team for a case update and to obtain prevention advice.
Sergeant Lewis Boyce from the Vale problem solving team said: "Thames Valley Police would like to thank everyone for their time in attending the police station over the weekend.
"We are delighted to be able to return £20,000 of stolen property to its owners and will continue to investigate tool theft robustly.
"Further work is ongoing to reunite more of the recovered stolen property."
