COMPANIES across the county are being reminded that today is the last day they can enter this year’s Oxfordshire Business Awards.

The deadline for entries for the prestigious awards is midnight tonight and companies are being urged to send in their entries for the 12 different award categories.

Chairman of the awards Paul Lowe said there have been a number of recent applications in the cultural events and tourism award category after urging music festivals to enter.

He said: “There is still time for companies to enter all categories - they can do this online right up until the last minute and in previous years we have had quite a few entries come in on the last day.

“It only takes about five minutes to complete the forms and people can even do it on their mobile phones - it’s that easy.”

Finalists will be among 500 business leaders and staff attending a gala evening on June 16, at the King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Oxford.

It is the first time the business awards have been held at the King’s Centre.

The finalists from the 12 categories will be automatically considered for the overall Darke & Taylor Business of the Year award

The categories span innovation, charity and community, small business, young person of the year, business person of the year, new business, apprenticeship, large business, marketing excellence, cultural events and tourism, employer of the year, and the Brita Green award.
