PILOTS of a US Airforce fighter jet were forced to perform an emergency landing at Brize Norton this morning.

The Oxford Mail is waiting to hear from the Ministry of Defence as to why the pilots had to land the plane suddenly.

A man, who was at the air base, said: "It had a major hydraulic problem.

"It's a USAF F15-E strike eagle from RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

"It was followed into Brize by another F15 (wingman) to help it down."
