WESTBURY’S young side are looking forward to making their Cherwell League debut on Saturday.

The reigning OCA League champions open their new era with a trip to Witney Mills in Division 4.

Skipper Tom Wilson, who has taken over the reins from Richard Tredwell, leads a side bristling with young talent, including promising batsman Ollie Tice and brothers Tom and William Gurney, plus spinners Tom Young and George Mann.

The experience is provided by former Buckinghamshire captain Paul Atkins and off-spinner Tredwell.

Atkins, who failed to score a century in the OCA League last season, will be attempting to put that right in 2016.

Meanwhile, Bicester & North Oxford, who also play in Division 4, open up at home to Dinton 2nd.

Westcott were too strong for visitors Stanton Harcourt as they eased to an eight-wicket win in OCA League Division 3 on Saturday.

Alimar Khan was the star, taking 3-20 in Stanton’s 134 all out, before hitting 56 not out to lead Westcott to 136-2.

Brill saw off Kennington by 108 runs in Division 5.

They reached 200-7 thanks to Colin Young (63) and Phil Chanel (40no), and then Andy Wynd claimed 4-11 as Kennington crashed to 92 all out.
