YOUNG actors have been wowing audiences this week with a festive pantomime.
Charlbury Amateur Dramatic Society has been performing Aladdin for this year’s festive pantomime, with the final performance tonight.
Jake Acock, 17, is one of about 20 cast members and has taken on the role of the magical genie.
He added: “We’ve got the primary male character, Aladdin, being played by a girl, something we often do for productions.”
“We’ve been working hard at this since September and everyone’s been really looking forward to it. This production should hopefully be one of the best that we have put on.”
In the Disney film, street urchin Aladdin falls in love with a beautiful princess, and after unleashing a genie from a magic lamp is granted three wishes.
Last year the group put on a production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and other recent performances include Dick Whittington and Wind in the Roses.
The last performance at the Memorial Hall in Charlbury starts at 7.30pm.
