The town has come top for its work to become a greener and more sustainable community by winning a national award.
The partnership between Cherwell District Council and charity Bioregional took home the best town title at the People Environment Achievement Awards.
Cherwell District Council leader Barry Wood said: “What makes the work in Bicester so unique is the size, scale and way in which we are working to achieve sustainability.
“We are learning from others to develop new and innovative ways to achieve the most sustainable results.”
Other towns Bicester beat to the mark included Brighton.
