FOR the second year running, members of the Didcot Community Hospital League of Friends got drenched at their annual fundraising fete.
But people still turned out to buy home-made crafts and cakes, take a chance in the tombola and hook a duck, to raise hospital funds.
The town’s branch of the League of Friends only has six members but it has helped buy a new electric exercise bike, televisions and even a Wii for patients at the hospital on Wantage Road.
Georgie Elliott, from Didcot, a member of the Friends support group, said: “We want to do things to help the patients there be more comfortable and to have a more enjoyable experience.
“We might end up in there ourselves one day and if we do we would like to be comfortable.
“Lots of people turned out to support us and we thoroughly enjoyed it, despite getting soaked.”
