A CARE provider that breached five regulations last year has now been ranked “good” by the national health watchdog.

Learning disability provider West Oxfordshire Supported Living was “good” overall and “outstanding” for the level of care it provided clients, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) said.

The report, published last Tuesday followed an inspection in January and February.

The service, run by The Camden Society, provides employment, supported living and day services for people with learning disabilities.

Since last year, improvements have been made to the service and the organisation, which helps people across West Oxfordshire, was praised for the dedication of its staff.

Inspectors said: “We were made aware of several occasions where staff went above and beyond the call of duty. We were told of many occasions where care staff used their own time to facilitate plans that meant a lot to people.”

In May last year, the CQC said that the provider breached five regulations and could not ensure the safety of clients.

The report after last year’s inspection had said: “While people told us they felt safe being cared for by the staff, we found not all aspects of the service were safe.

“We found medicines were not managed safely and published guidance was not being followed.”
