OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  • Patrick Kavanagh, 26, of no fixed address, admitted two counts of being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Marcham Road, Abingdon, on February 19, and Temple Road, Oxford, on February 18. Fined £150 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • Katherine Precious, 32, of Warwick Street, Oxford, admitted six counts of fraud by false representation by agreeing to rent out rooms in her house and taking rent and deposits in advance in Oxford between August 31 and September 11. Given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay £3,250 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge Teresa Weston, 52, of Hurst Rise Road, Botley, near Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Nuneham Courtenay on October 10. Fined £60 and told to pay £100 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Alan Bumpass, 21, of Barley Close, Wallingford, admitted stealing a bottle of motor oil worth £12.79 from the BP service station in Benson on July 23. Also admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Wallingford on January 1. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £12.79 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Richard Kinnaird, 34, of Phelps Place, Oxford, admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour in Crown Street, Oxford, on December 27. Fined £75 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
  • Derek Shelton, 62, of Hanover Court, Craven Way, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Cockroft Road, Didcot, on February 5. Had 76mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. Given a 20-month driving ban and fined £230. Told to pay a £23 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Kevin Atkins, 24, of Cricket Road, Cowley, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty and obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, on July 27. Community order made with 80-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay £500 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £500 costs.
  • Peter Boys, 43, of Upper Fisher Row, Oxford, admitted possessing crack cocaine and heroin, both Class A drugs, in Oxford on December 30. Community order made with six-week curfew requirement, told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  • Sean Jones, 52, of no fixed address, admitted damaging a window at an Oxford City Council property in Palmer Road, Oxford, on February 19 without reasonable excuse. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • Mark Smith, 38, of no fixed address, admitted sitting at cash machines in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on February 5, which he was prohibited from doing by an antisocial behaviour order made at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on September 12. Also admitted begging in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on September 11, at Oxford Bus Station in Gloucester Green on February 2 and on Cornmarket Street on February 10. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • James Bennion, 38, of Elton Road, Banbury, admitted drink-driving on Mill Lane, Banbury, on January 31. Had 76 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mcg. Fined £250 and ordered to pay a £25 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from holding a driving licence for 17 months.
  • Matthew Cook, 28, of Warwick Road, Banbury, admitted possessing 0.71 grams of cocaine, a Class A drug, in Banbury on April 29. Fined £105 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Darren Evans, 38, of Hamilton Close, Bicester, admitted criminally damaging a gate of unknown value in Kidlington on January 31. Also admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, that day, and committing a further offence while subject to a 12-month conditional discharge made at Oxfordshire Magistrates’ Court on July 17 for being drunk and disorderly. Fined £160 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • Samuel Sharp, 27, of Church Street, Bodicote, near Banbury, admitted drink-driving on Bloxham Road, Banbury, on January 30. Had 62 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Fined £385 and ordered to pay a £39 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Nicholas Baker, 29, of Isis Avenue, Bicester, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that unlawful violence would be used against them in Bicester on December 11. Community order made with 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months to be supervised by an officer and fined £60 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
  • Anthony Bridges, 42, of Horton Close, Middleton Cheney, near Banbury, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on a public road, namely Southam Road, Banbury, on February 2. Fined a total of £1,400 and ordered to pay a £70 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from obtaining a licence for six months.
  • Julie Warman, 43, of Cresswell Close, Yarnton, near Kidlington, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Yarnton on December 8. Fined £135 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Jade Keenan-naf, 18, of Worton Road, Middle Barton, admitted failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Oxfordshire Magistrates; Court on January 7 by failing to attend an unpaid work session. New community order made with a supervision requirement until 2016 and fined £50.
