A MAN had to be cut free after the car he was driving left the road and ended up in a ditch.

Fire crews from Bicester were called to Bainton Road in Hethe at 9.47pm last night.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a male driver who was trapped in the car.

A specialist rescue vehicle from Kidlington was also at the scene.

South Central Ambulance Service said it sent two ambulance crews.

The man was taken to the the Horton General Hospital in Banbury with serious injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.
