Fire crews were called to a house near Bicester last night after a tumble dryer caught fire.

Crews from Woodstock, Banbury and Deddington were alerted shortly before 10pm last night to the incident in Cherwell Bank, Lower Heyford.

A spokeswoman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said: “Two elderly women were treated by ambulance staff for the effects of breathing in smoke, and the tumble dryer was removed.”
