The first woman to be given a potential Ebola vaccine in an Oxford trial is said to be doing well.
Mum-of-two Ruth Atkins, from Marcham, near Abingdon, was given the injection on Wednesday, September 17.
She was one of 60 people given a trial vaccine for the virus at the Churchill Hospital’s Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine.
He sister Lynda Atkins, Oxfordshire county councillor for Wallingford, said: “As far as she can tell there are no side-effects.”
She is having regular checks to see whether her body is developing antibodies.
