Princess Anne has arrived in Oxford ahead of the opening of Oxford University’s Kennedy Institute for Rheumatology.

The institute’s research focuses on the causes and treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory diseases that affect many millions of people around the world.

Her Royal Highness had previosuly been in Woodstock for the official opening of the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum.

The museum is located in the grounds of the Oxfordshire Museum in Park Street and houses collections from the Oxfordshire Yeomanry and Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.

The museum opened to the public in July.

Museum director Ursula Corcoran said: "There has been huge interest because of the centenary of the First World War.

"We are delighted Princess Anne is visiting.

"It's fantastic recognition of all the work that various trusts and volunteers have done to get the museum open."
