People convicted of offences at magistrates courts in Oxfordshire recently:

  1. Andrew Harris, 32, of Lenthall Road, Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted stealing wine worth £14.99 from a Co-op in Oxford on May 4 and two ready meals worth £5.20 from a Co-op in Oxford on May 20. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to two community orders and a conditional discharge made on April 29 for theft. Given a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with an alcohol treatment requirement and 12-month supervision requirement. Also told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £5.20 compensation.
  2. Kyron McFarlane, 24, of Emperor Gardens, Greater Leys, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Oxford on April 16. Fined £110 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  3. Thomas Williams, 23, of Vane Road, Thame, convicted of dangerous driving on the B4012 in Tetsworth, near Thame, on May 19. Community order made with eight-week curfew requirement and given 12-month driving ban. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £400 costs.
  4. Richard Barnes, 36, of Wolsey Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Wolsey Road, Oxford, on February 12. Community order made with six-month supervision requirement and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £150 costs.
  5. Daniel Holliday, 23 ,of Randolph Avenue, Woodstock, admitted assault by beating in Randolph Avenue, Woodstock, on May 1. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 3. Given a four week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  6. Tom Dehaan, 38, of Queen’s Road, Thame, admitted speeding by exceeding the 30mph speed limit in Witney Road, Standlake, near Witney, on October 30. Fined £250 and told to pay a £25 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs. Given five points on driving licence.
  7. Wayne O’Donovan, 49, of Merton Street, Banbury, admitted causing criminal damage to a double-glazed window in Knights Road, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, on June 21. Fined £75 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £30 costs.
  8. Laura Murray-White, 35, of Fieldfare Close, Bicester, admitted drink-driving on Islip Road, Bletchingdon, on May 14. Had 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £375 and told to pay a £38 victims’ surcharge and £85 court costs. Banned from driving for 20 months.
  9. Louie Withers, 25, of Cuddesdon Way, Oxford, admitted criminal damage to a bedroom door at Warburg Crescent, Oxford, on February 8. Sentenced to 14 days in prison.
  10. Aron Gibson, 33, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing four fillets and two rump steaks worth a total of £65 from Marks and Spencers in Oxford Railway Station in Park End Street, Oxford, between May 25 and May 29. Community order made with a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and a nine-month supervision requirement. Told to pay £65 compensation.
  11. Adam Hicks, 23, of Masons Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Oxford on June 16. Fined £125 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  12. Kawinthida Khanthasomboun, 19, of Lake Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting comestics worth £633.50 from Boots in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on June 5. Given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  13. Iain Brodie, 29, of Westfield Road, Witney, admitted aggravated vehicle taking after taking a Vauxhall Astra in Westfield Way, Witney, on May 4. Also admitted driving without insurance and without a licence. Community order made with a supervision requirement. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 court costs. Banned from driving for 12 months.
  14. James Brooks, 19, of Buckingham Road, Bicester, admitted failing to comply with a direction given by a police officer to leave Manorsfield Road, Bicester, and not return within 24 hours on June 14. Given a six-month conditional discharge. Told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  15. David Hatton, 32, of Jubilee Court, Banbury, admitted shoplifting meat worth a total of £85 from Co-op in Bassett Avenue, Bicester, on October 10. Told to pay £40 compensation.
  16. Paul Nicholls, 47, of Portway, Banbury, admitted possession of Class A drug cocaine in High Street, Banbury, on June 6. Fined £170 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  17. Matthew Sherry, 31, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted shoplifting meat worth a total of £28.70 from Farmfoods, The Calthorpe Centre, Calthorpe Street, Banbury, on June 16. Fined £100 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
  18. Lisa Stevens, 30, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury, admitted stealing meat worth a total of £36.80 from Farmfoods, The Calthorpe Centre, Calthorpe Street, Banbury, on June 16. Community order made with a six-month drug rehabilitation order and a supervision requirement. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  19. Mohammed Basharat, 35, of West Street, Banbury, admitted having without good reason or legal authority an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a pair of scissors, in a public place, namely Daventry Road, Banbury, on June 28. Given a six-week prison sentence and fined £100. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  20. Lee Bromley, 38, of Thyme Close, Banbury, admitted shoplifting a throw and a mattress enhancer worth a total of £49.98 from Dunelm Mill Stores in Banbury on April 14. Community order made with a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and a supervision requirement. Told to pay £49.98 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  21. Camilla Lay, 43, of Netherton, Abingdon, admitted speeding at 60mph in a 30mph zone on the A415 at Culham on October 6. Fined £110 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 court costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
  22. Elizabeth McAlpine, 58, of Southhill, Cornbury Park, Charlbury, convicted of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence between May 2, 2013, and May 30, 2013. Fined £600 and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £80 costs. Licence endorsed with six penalty points.
