How lucky I am to be posting this from the comfort of my car, and not stuck on a train, or struggling on a bike, or sat next to a smelly person on a Stagecoach bus. I've just lit a fag, and cracked open a tinny,oh the joy of motoring. Heaven.

It seems that every other day there's some problem with Western Region, or whatever it's called these days.

Thankfully I've recently discovered the vastly better Chiltern Line, so no longer have to endure the misery of Paddington trains.

When Oxford Parkway opens next year, will anyone still bother with that lousy 'service' via Didcot?

New PE, Tinsel. Yes drinking isn't allowed on the bus but an iPad or smart phone allows you to use the time productively or relaxing. On the train you can have a drink too, they even sell beer on some trains.

Nick, you're right that there will be an exodus to Chiltern once the route to MYB is open, myself included. Usually however anyone 'hit by a train' has had it I'm afraid as linespeed that area is up to 125 mph. Sometimes it's trespass but normally it's suicide.
