SCHOOLchildren from Bicester and nearby villages gathered for their own Oscars celebration.

Taking place at the Vue Cinema, in Pioneer Square, for the first time, primary school pupils donned their finest clothes to replicate the red carpet treatment.

More than 750 children submitted 68 films for the fourth annual Bicester Schools’ Film Festival.

Handing out the awards was guest of honour Daniel Kleinman, who was title sequence designer for the James Bond films and also directed music videos for artists including Madonna, Fleetwood Mac and Paula Abdul.

Children had acted in, filmed and directed their movies. Winners included Frogbelly Ratbone by year one and two students at Bure Park Primary School, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by foundation pupils at Glory Farm Primary School, while Five Acres Primary School won best overall film with The Haunted ICT Room.
