THE van driver, who died in last night's collision on the M40 was a 39-year-old from Merseyside, Thames Valley Police have said.
An air ambulance was called to the scene of the collision, which closed both north- and southbound carriageways near Lewknor.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the male van driver died at the scene.
It happened just before 7pm and invovled a van and an HGV lorry. It closed the road between junctions 5 (Stokenchurch) and 6 (Watlington), causing traffic tailbacks.
Both north- and southbound carriageways were closed to allow the air ambulance to land, but the northbound lanes reopened at about 11.30pm.
