A man was taken to hospital after two lorries crashed on the A34.
The articulated lorry and tanker collided on the southbound carriageway shortly after 4pm on Saturday.
Thames Valley Police said some fluid leaked on to the road after the crash, but it was not fuel.
The vehicles were in a layby near junction nine of the M40 and motorists faced delays while recovery work took place.
South Central Ambulance Service said one man was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital with suspected chest injuries.
