FEARSOME wolves and graphic trees were the proud features of an Artweeks exhibition.

Youngsters from Bicester took inspiration from the Grimm fairytale Little Red Riding Hood to create three paintings featuring scenes from the tale.

Frazer Cruickshank, 12, said he could not wait to see his artwork displayed in Sainsbury’s in Bicester this week.

The Cooper School pupil said: “It is really exciting to have my artwork exhibited in public.

“I love being part of this project, creating art with my friends at the studio.”

Eight young people took part in the Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership Trust exhibition, working with fine art illustrator Luke Daniels.

The 23-year-old from Bampton said: “That was the first art project I had done with these young people. They were really excited about it.

“We used a lot of pastels and charcoals. I think it is a really great project.

“It is really relaxed and there is a nice atmosphere.”

The youngsters meet each Wednesday after school and hope to start work on a new project to create cartoons based around Bicester.

Their work will be on display from tomorrow at OYAP Trust next to Sainsbury’s in Bicester from noon to 6pm.

It is part of this year’s annual Artweeks festival that sees artists from across the county open up their studios to the public.
