Top police chief lends a hand at crash scene

Bicester Advertiser: Francis Habgood Francis Habgood

A SENIOR police officer helped victims of a crash on an Oxfordshire road this morning.

Thames Valley Police Deputy Chief Constable Francis Habgood was first on the scene following the crash on the A34 at the M40 junction on his way to work.

The force’s TVP Roads Policing Twitter account said: “DCC Habgood checked on the condition of those involved and directed traffic until our officers and the paramedics arrived.”

I'd agree that this isn't newsworthy and not because "he was doing his job", rather he was a normal functioning human being and helped a person that was in need. He was simply doing what anyone else would do. It is irrelevant that he is a police officer. This wouldn't have made the news if he was a shopkeeper!
