People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

  • Samuel Bray, 20, of Ramsons Way, Abingdon, admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Ramsons Way, Abingdon, on January 28. Fined £100, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Michael Corcoran, 58, of Abbott Road, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Abbott Road, on February 16. Banned from driving for 20 months, fined £400, with a £40 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Keith Fenn, 31, of Kiln Avenue, Chinnor, admitted shoplifting four cans of Stella Artois lager worth £7.89 from BP in Thame on January 11. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £7.89 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Dale Gough, 21, of Gainfield, Buckland, admitted entering a stable block as a trespasser and stealing generators worth £700 in North Mead Lane, Wantage, on February 15. Community order made with an eight-week curfew requirement. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Thames Cryogenics Limited, of Gooch Drive, Southmead Industrial Estate, Didcot, admitted failing to ensure the safety of employees during a welding operation on January 23, 2012, at their Gooch Drive premises. Fined £5,000, a £120 victims’ surcharge, and £4,500 costs.
  • Darren Sparrowhawk, 32, of Tithe Court, Banbury, admitted common assault in Banbury on November 9. Fined £55, with £50 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £40 costs.
  • Nicola Costello, 33, of Leach Road, Bicester, admitted assault by beating in Bicester on January 13. Community order made with a supervision requirement. Also told to do 100 hours of unpaid community work in the next 12 months and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge Edward Wassell, 34, of Wadards Meadow, Witney, admitted harassment after sending numerous text messages in Wadards Meadow, Witney, between January 22 and January 30. Also admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis. Given a 20-week prison sentence suspended for two years. Restraining order also made. Fined £320, a £32 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Leeann Dilleyston, 30, of Pontefract Road, Bicester, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Bicester on February 20. Fined £75, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £40 costs.
  • James Morbey, 25, of Rose Hall Lane, Middleton Cheney, Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Hennef Way, Banbury, on January 11. Had 170 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of urine, above the legal limit of 107mg. Banned from driving for 40 months, fined £110, with £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Brendan Chalk, 20, of The Square, Aston near Bampton, admitted assault by beating in Market Square, Witney, on December 8. Community order made with an activity and supervision requirements. Told to do 135 hours of unpaid community work in the next 12 months. Also told to pay £100 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Danny Masih, 31, of Lane Close, Kidlington, admitted assault by beating in Lane Close on December 5. Given a 10-week prison sentence suspended for two years. Also given programme and supervision requirements. Told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £250 costs.
  • Davidde Spencer, 31, of no fixed address, admitted persistently making use of public electronic communications network for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another in Townsend, Banbury, on December 12.
  • Denise King, 25, of Ribston Close, Banbury, admitted stealing £195 worth of perfume from Debenhams in Castle Quay, Banbury, on February 23, while subject to a suspended sentence order made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on February 5 for theft. Sent to prison for a total of 14 weeks.
  • Martin Potter, 30, of Lambs Crescent, Banbury, admitted breaching a restraining order and harassing the occupant of a flat by shouting through the letter box in Banbury on March 7. Sent to prison for 12 weeks.
  • Kirsty Walker, 24, of Starnham Road, Ducklington, near Witney, admitted stealing cans of Carlsberg worth £10 from Morrisons and two bottles of wine in Witney on February 24. Fined £150 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • Lukasz Obludek, 32, of Cope Road, Banbury, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment at Banbury Cross on February 19, and failing to answer bail at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on March 4. Fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Kit Pentlow, 18, of Church Lane, Barford St John, near Banbury, admitted possessing Phenazepam, a Class C drug, in Banbury High Street on December 14. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
  • Jack Trinder, 18, of Curbridge Road, Ducklington, near Witney, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment in Witney on December 28. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs.
  • Ernest Murawski, 27, of Castle Street, Banbury, admitted drink driving in Middleton Road, Banbury, on February 9. Had 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 25mg. Also admitted drink driving in Bloxham Road, Banbury, on February 17. Had 93 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Also admitted driving whilst disqualified and without insurance in Ruscote Avenue, Banbury, on February 20. Sent to prison for 18 weeks and banned from driving for 48 months.
  • George Geoghegan, 26, of Ruscote Arcade, Longlandes Way, Banbury, admitted stealing a case of lager, sweets and a loaf of bread worth £7.65 from the Swindon and Gloucester Co-op on December 2, 2012, stealing cider and four packs of sandwiches worth £22.09 from the Swindon and Gloucester Co-op on December 2, 2012, stealing items from the Swindon and Gloucester Co-op on April 26, stealing lager worth £12.50 from the Swindon and Gloucester Co-op on April 27, and stealing sandwiches worth £9.39 from the Swindon and Gloucester Co-op on April 27. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £51.63 compensation.
  • Alan Jensen, 52, of Millington Road, Wallingford, convicted of driving without insurance in Station Road, Didcot, on June 19. Given a 12-month driving ban and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • Mark Oliver, 38, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on March 10. Given a 28-day prison sentence suspended for 12 months and told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
