A COUPLE who have spent 20 years in the dance industry rubbing shoulders with Take That, the cast of Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor, are bringing some glitz to Bicester.
Gareth and Laura Walker, pictured, plan to open a dance school every Saturday, from today, at the Methodist Church hall, Victoria Road, teaching children and adults.
The couple, who met when they were 14, have an impressive list of credits including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Mrs Walker, 33, performed in the closing ceremonies while Mr Walker, 34, was associate director helping to put together the shows.
He said: “I was involved from scratch, helping to create ideas, casting, managing rehearsals and live direction. It was unbelievable.”
Creative director and choreographer Mr Walker has performed as a dancer on The X Factor. He choreographed Strictly Come Dancing, appeared in West End shows, and presented a Ministry of Sound fitness DVD.
More recently he directed stars in the National Television Awards.
The couple, who have a seven-month-old son Austin, live at Brill near Bicester.
Calling themselves Studio Gold, Mr Walker said: “It’s fitness dance and building confidence but a fun way to dance with expert choreography.”
