Agreement over Redbridge Waste Recycling Centre lease

First published in News

An agreement has been reached for Oxford City Council to continue leasing the Redbridge Waste Recycling Centre to Oxfordshire County Council.

The county council will pay the city council £20,000 a year to continue using the site as it has done since 1982.

The city council’s executive board agreed to the lease at its meeting in the Town Hall last night.

This bean-counting must cease.

How ridiculous for a publicly owned facility to be leased by one council from another. This is the kind of red tape which holds the country back. No doubt some bureaucrat somewhere in the hallowed hall is rubbing his hands in glee at his easy ride.
