A DRIVER was going “way too fast” as he sped across a roundabout before killing a cyclist, a jury heard yesterday.
A van driver told Oxford Crown Court he saw 36-year-old Daniel Fallaw’s silver Ford Escort crash into prison worker David Parris as he crossed Neunkirchen Way in Bicester.
Fallaw, of Peregrine Way, Bicester, denies causing the 48-year-old Bullingdon Prison worker’s death by careless driving in December 2012.
Van driver Reginald Hazell, who witnessed the crash, told the jury he did not see Fallaw indicate or brake before he hit a person in a fluorescent jacket.
Mr Hazell said: “The car just zoomed past me.
“I could see a fluorescent jacket in the road and I was thinking he isn’t going to stop. The next thing was there was a collision.”
The trial continues.
