More than 50 people have signed a petition against planned cuts of almost 38 per cent to Oxfordshire County Council’s budget for helping the homeless.
As part of plans to save more than £64m, the council is planning a £1.5m cut to its budget for housing-related support.
A petition launched online at change.org by the charity Oxford Homeless Pathways has received the support of residents and politicians, including Labour city councillor Anne-Marie Canning.
She said: “I think this is the wrong time to cut the homelessness budget.”
