A Bicester church was transformed into a winter wonderland for the weekend, with the help of dozens of glittering Christmas trees.
St Edburg’s Church, in Church Street, celebrated its second Christmas Tree Festival, which saw the historic building lit up with festive decorations.
The event was launched on Friday by town mayor Melanie Magee and was due to come to a close last night with a Songs of Praise-style carol service.
Jane Fallaize volunteered as a steward at the event and took her three-year-old son Adam to see the display. She said: “He was just amazed and completely transfixed by all the lights. For the first half hour he was just running around, taking it all in.
The event is jointly organised by the parochial church council and the St Edburg’s Foundation. Funds raised will contribute to promoting the heritage of the building.
