  • "Great news the new Sainsbury's is now open. A real alternative to Tesco's domination. I notice the cinema opens today but doesn't start showing films until tomorrow, maybe they didn't want to open on an Orange Wednesday!"

Pioneer Square opens

First published in News

The £70m Bicester town centre redevelopment, Pioneer Square, will officially open at 8.30am today with the unveiling of a plaque by troops from 23 Pioneer Regiment, based at St David’s Barracks.

At 9am Sainsbury’s, pictured, will open its doors and at about 9.30am there will be an opening ceremony for the Vue Cinema.

People will be able to walk into Pioneer Square to gather for the opening events and the new car park – part of the development – will also be open.
