THE war in Afghanistan has highlighted the devastating consequences of improvised bombs.
Here in Oxfordshire, home to military repatriations, we know all too well the fatal consequences these devices can have. Our county also has its fair share of war heroes permanently scarred by such weapons.
Now Oxfordshire will host thousands more soldiers, sailors and airmen to learn how to deal with these bombs.
We should be proud of such a state-of-the-art site. But the real shame is that it is needed at all.
