BUS services through Oxfordshire are back to normal after minor problems with snow this morning.

The Oxford Bus Company City8 service from Barton to Oxford City Centre was having to use a slightly different route first thing this morning in Barton.

From Bayswater Road it was turning left into Stowford Road and back up to Bayswater Road before resuming its normal route.

By 8am the service was able to revert back to its normal route.

Problems on the trains this morning are not snow related.

Points failures on the line at Worcester Shrub Hill are causing the cancellation of a number of services between Oxford and London.

Network Rail has been working on fixing the problem since 7.30am.

First Great Western spokesman Dan Panes said: “There are a number of points failures.

“We apologise to our customers if they have been caught up in any disruption this morning.

“We know Network Rail is working hard to fix the problem. Our trains will be ready to run as soon as we get the green light.”

Traffic has now returned to normal on the M40 after emergency pothole repairs.

The work was carried out on the southbound carriageway between junction seven for Thame and junction six for Watlington.
