Children's music CD linked to lewd lyrics

WHEN David Adlard spotted a Sainsbury’s children’s CD starring the likes of The Wiggles, and Fifi and The Flower Tots, he thought it was just the thing for his four-year-old daughter.
But within moments of sliding it into his PC to play My Favourite Playtime Songs, he was hitting eject.
His PC had linked to an online database of song titles to identify the music and came up with the distinctly un-child-friendly title My Mutha-****ing Favourite Playtime Songs.
Not only that, it also had a slightly lewd take on the song Head Shoulders Knees and Toes.
Sainsbury’s said the CD had linked to an independent database when Mr Adlard copied it onto his computer.
Mr Adlard, from Watlington, said: “It was a pretty bad thing to see on the screen. It looks like someone has had a bit of fun with one of the song titles.
“It’s not a particularly pleasant word either, and it is a children’s disc.
“I think it’s appalling and they should pull them from sale.”
The father-of-two, a 41-year-old company director, bought the disc from Sainsbury’s branch at Heyford Hill, Oxford, on Wednesday.
Mr Adlard added: “Some people might think it is a joke, but I think it is a pretty awful thing to do to children.
“The CD was only a pound or so, but it’s hardly the point, it’s offensive and shouldn’t be allowed.”
A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman said: “We asked our supplier to check this urgently as this CD is one of our best-selling lines and we’ve sold thousands of them with no complaints.”
“The incorrect titles were added after purchase when the disc was copied on to our customer’s computer; an independent online database was carrying incorrect information which was then copied on to the computer.”
She added: “We’ve informed them of their error and they are dealing with it.”

Good response from Sainsbury.
The gentleman should take more care with his choice of database suppliers.
