Rugby fans put on proms show
12:00pm Friday 25th January 2013 in News
FOR many students the school prom is the social highlight of the year and choosing what to wear can be an agonising decision.
But help is at hand, as Lottie Thurlow, 16, plans to stage a fashion show at Bicester’s Cooper School to show off ballgowns, suits and accessories – and to raise money for Bicester Ladies Vixens rugby team.
Taking place on Friday, February 9, the show is open to anyone who may be attending a posh function, the school prom, or an evening out, to give them a helping hand to transform themselves into the Belle of the Ball.
Rugby-mad sixth former Lottie decided to stage the fashion show after she had problems finding the perfect dress for her school prom last year.
She said: “There wasn’t a lot of places to go to get prom dresses and no big event to see them modelled.”
Lottie, pictured left, has also roped in some of her fellow sixth-form students – Hailey Mitchell, Chelsea Veale, and Harriet Reynolds.
A catwalk will be set up and models will wear dresses from Premier Ball Gowns and suits from Henry’s Menswear.
Make-up artist and hairdresser Debbie Mac will get models ready and also do a demonstration on the night to give people tips.
Premier Ball Gowns, based in Crown Walk, will set up a stall with jewellery, bags, shoes and dresses, and a portable dressing room for people to try on dresses.
The show at Cooper School, off Churchill Road, Bicester starts at 6pm and costs £2 to get in.
