OXON: A 21-year-old woman has been killed on the A40.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Ford Ka hit the woman, from Cheltenham, on the Oxford-bound carriageway of the A40 between Forest Hill and Thornhill Park-and-Ride at about 10.30pm on Monday.

It is believed her body was also hit by other vehicles.

Pc James Mahony asked anyone who saw the woman walking along the unlit section of the A40, or who struck something in the road, to call 101 or ring the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555111.
