RONNIE SPECTOR, lead singer of the Ronettes in the 60s when married to "wall of sound' producer Phil Spector, is the latest big name to be confirmed for the Cornbury Oxford Music Festival.
The original bad girl of rock 'n roll has just released her latest album, Last of the Rock Stars, which features collaborations with the likes of Keith Richards and Patti Smith.
Also joining the likes of Robert Plant, Deacon Blue, Texas and the Pretenders at Cornbury Park on July 8 and 9 will be recent EMI signings Air Traffic, a piano-led indie rock band from Bournemouth, and festival favourites Hayseed Dixie, famed for their bluegrass versions of rock classics such as Motorhead's Ace of Spades and The Darkness' I Believe In A Thing Called Love.
Tickets, which are on sale now, cost £40 for Saturday or Sunday and £70 for the weekend, and can be purchased via the website www.cornburyfestival.com or by calling the ticket hotline on 0870118 1636. There is free admittance for children under ten, and a variety of camping packages.
