FORMER Oxford United managing director Greig Box Turnbull has set up his own agency, specialising in public relations, communications and campaigns.

Oxford-based Fortitude Communications will also provide strategic advice, web design, content creation, social media support and media training to clients in the world of business, consumer, sport and luxury.

Mr Box Turnbull stepped down from his position at United at the end of the season but stayed on as vice-chairman of the club's community charity.

During his tenure the club finished in its highest league position for 20 years and sold a record number of season tickets.

Mr Box Turnbull has teamed up with digital creative Liam Faulkner to combine media and PR knowledge with graphic design and brand support.

The former U's managing director said: "We have significant experience of the media, communications, brands and creative design.

"To deliver effective media and digital campaigns you need people who understand strategy and have a deep inner knowledge of today's media and business and we have that.

"I am delighted to have partnered with Liam, as I believe combining PR and media skills with digital and graphic design expertise provides clients with a much stronger service.

"We set up in Oxford because we love the community here and there are so many superb businesses in the area who have fantastic stories to tell to existing and potential customers locally and nationally."

Mr Box Turnbull has since joined Oxford City Stars ice hockey club as a director, to support its strategic growth.

He was previously a journalist on the Daily Mirror before entering communications and PR with Mayfair-based Dragon Advisory, where he was managing partner.

Mr Faulkner designed Oxford City Stars' digital marketing campaign and website and has worked with major brands including Shell, Unilever and Oxford-based Jericho Chambers.

The agency will cover the Thames Valley region and London.

Fortitude's founding clients included the Oxford Bus Company and British luxury brand Thomas Lyte, which specialises in designing and making iconic sporting trophies, including the Emirates FA Cup.

It also counts The King's Centre, in Osney Mead and Holiday Rewards among its clients.
